I hate that we live in a world where some men think it’s okay to rape women. I hate that we live in a world where some women think it’s okay to sexually molest a small child.
I hate that we live in a world where pornography is mainstream and where references to masturbation are common.
Sex is private. It was never meant for the screen. It was never meant for adults to penetrate prepubescent children. It was never meant for dominance over another human being.
People are not objects. People are living, thinking, dreaming, existing beings.
So stop treating them like pieces of meat.
And I feel sorry for the ones who act out in unpleasing ways. I’m sorry for the rapists. The child molesters. The ones addicted to pornography (I used to be addicted to porn). You’ve been messed up in ways, too. I’m sorry. I forgive you. I pray for you. I thank God that you may come to know Him and become free.
And I feel sorry for the victims. Those raped, caught in sex trafficking, porn stars, prostitutes, children…oh my God, the children. I pray you may all find healing and restored purpose in life.
And I am sorry for me. I was introduced to a male penis when I was a small child. I saw things I should have never seen. He let me touch his penis. I thought it was a game. When I came across pornography as a teenager, I had no idea it was wrong. I was addicted to it for two years. One time at church camp, I realized it was wrong, and then God delivered me.
So I get it. I come from both ends. I was a victim and also one who partook in viewing pornography.
And let me tell you, it’s not fun to be on both ends of the spectrum.
But hopefully sharing my story can help others heal in their own stories.
My name is Amanda. I am not a victim of my past. I am now a victor and voice against perversions of sex.
So speak up, generation of mine. This crap cannot continue. People need to know they can do better.
And sex needs to go back to being private again.
